Originally, our methodology involved extracting 100’s of 1,000’s of installs completed in California. These installations are reported to California under the solar rebates program, and represents a large portion of all installs in California since most installations qualify for rebates.
The data is then segregated by customer sector: residential, commercial, or government.
However, since this solar rebate program is closing down, newer data is obtained directly from solar companies. We are using various proprietary techniques to ensure accurate pricing. While an average can never represent the exact cost you will pay, it does tend to help narrow down the search for a good value installer. Of course, while shopping for solar, like any service, its equally important to look at the quality of the materials and work.
