PV Rooftop Analysis (High School) - using these aerial images, and the annual energy consumption history, determine how much of your school's energy budget could be met with a solar electric (photovoltaic) system. Present the results on a poster board at the Olympics.
Assumptions: PV array power density ~ 10 watts/sqft (this assumes a small tilt angle ~ 10 degrees, spacing between rows of modules is included in this calculation). Lodi Solar Resource and Energy per rated system kW ~ 1400 kWh/kW (incorporates Lodi solar resource, assumes southern facing, 10 degree tilt). Scale is included in lower left corner of the aerial images.

Basically, this is an exercise in 1) determining how big of a Solar Electric Array would fit on your school (kW)?; 2) how much would it produce (kWh/yr) per year?; 3) what percentage of your school's annual electrical energy consumption would it provide? [Solar produced kWh/yr / total kWh/yr consumed]
